The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Stockholm issues visas to officials and journalists representing and working in Sweden/ Finland. Due to regulatory constraints, we can only issue single-entry visas valid for a one-month stay.

Applications will be processed in order of their receipt by the Consular Section. Applications that are incomplete or lacking necessary documentation will not be processed.

Please read the following instructions and information carefully

Visit In-person: Visit the Consular Section in-person during official working hours to obtain the Visa.

Bring the Following Documents

Visa Application Form

• Fully completed in typewritten and duly signed. Visa application form can be downloaded here.

Passport

• The applicant’s passports must have at least six months’ validity and must have blank pages.

Supporting Documents

• Two standard passport-size photos affixed to the appropriate box on the application form (photos must be identical, recent, color on white background, taken directly off the face, and show both ears).
• Proof of Address/Residency in Sweden: Swedish / Finnish Identity Card and a copy of it.
• The Consular Section charges a fee of SEK 1,000 or Euro 100 for Visa Fee, by Bank Transfer
• Government Officials and Journalists traveling for work please read Important Note section below

Important Note

• Media personnel/journalists are required to provide an introduction letter stating the purpose, duration and places intended to visit in Afghanistan
• For official visits, please contact your employer to send a letter of introduction with the details of the purpose of your visit to Afghanistan to the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Stockholm.
• Visa process may include a face to face interview. 

Payment Instruction

• For applicants within Sweden, please make a payment of SEK 1,000 to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s Bank Girot 533-5013. Please write the applicants name and last-name in the message/medelande field.
• For applicants residing outside of Sweden, please make a payment of Euro 100 to the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan’s Euro Account:
