Afghan nationals or residents of Sweden or Finland who require a Character Check Certificate for their period of residence in Afghanistan are required to submit a formal written application in person to the Embassy of Afghanistan in Stockholm.
Important Information and Instructions
- Applicants are required to visit the consular section of the embassy in person. This certificate cannot be processed or issued in the absence of the applicant or through postal or online methods.
- Applications will only be accepted during the official working hours and days of the embassy.
Required Documents
To apply for a certificate of character check, the following documents must be submitted:
- Application Letter: Applicants must submit a formal request letter addressed to the consular section of the embassy. The letter should clearly specify the requested service and include the applicant’s full name, father’s name, date and place of birth, current address, and valid contact number.
- Character check Form: The request form must be completed in both English and Dari/Pashto.
- Copy of Afghan ID (Tazkira) or Passport: A copy of the applicant’s valid Afghan ID or passport, along with additional copies, must be provided.
- Residence Document for Sweden or Finland: A copy of the valid residence card for Sweden or Finland, showing the applicant’s details, must be submitted.
- Supporting Letter or Email: Applicants must provide a letter or email from the relevant authorities stating the request for the certificate of non-criminal liability.
- Fingerprints: Applicants must provide their fingerprints on the designated form. Fingerprints can be taken by the official police or by consular staff at the embassy.
- Prepaid Envelope: A prepaid envelope, clearly addressed to the applicant, must be provided for sending the certificate.
- If a prepaid envelope cannot be provided, an additional payment of 290 SEK or 25 EUR for postal services must be transferred, and the receipt should be attached to the application.
Issuance of the Certificate
The certificate will be issued after the following steps are completed:
- Fee: The fee for character check is 2000 SEK. Payment can check be made through bank transfer.
- Issuance: Once all requirements are met, the application will be processed, and the certificate will be issued. The certificate will then be mailed to the applicant.
- Please note: The process may take some time, as it requires coordination with multiple authorities.
Important Notes
Document Preparation: Applicants should ensure they bring all required documents to avoid delays in the process. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
