Information on obtaining Power of Attorney

Afghan nationals residing in Sweden or Finland can visit this Embassy to apply for power of attorney.

Important Information and Guidelines:
  • Applicants, along with two adult witnesses who must be Afghan citizens, are required to appear in person at the consular section of the embassy.
  • This document cannot be processed or issued in the absence of the applicants or via post.
  • Applications are accepted during the official working days and hours of the embassy.
Types of Power of Attorney:
A. Power of Attorney for Inherited Properties
  • If the power of attorney is related to inherited properties, the applicant must provide the original or a copy of the inheritance certificate at the time of application.
  • The applicant must clearly specify the amount, boundaries, exact location, ownership document, or religious deed in the relevant form.
  • The exact details of the attorney, including their ID card or passport number, must be entered in the form.
  • Two witnesses with valid identity documents such as an Afghan ID card or passport must be present.
  • The subject of the power of attorney and the attorney’s authority must be precisely stated in the text.
  • Photos of all parties involved in the power of attorney must be provided.
B. Power of Attorney for Marriage and Related Documents:
  • The exact details of the spouse not present in Sweden/Finland must be clearly entered in the form.
  • Two witnesses with valid identity documents must be present to confirm the principal’s declaration.
  • The exact details of the attorney must be accurately entered in the form.
  • The subject of the power of attorney and the attorney’s authority must be clearly stated in the text.
  • Photos of all parties involved in the power of attorney must be provided.
C. All other Types of Power of Attorney:

All conditions in Section A, except for the inheritance document, must be met for other types of power of attorney.

Note: If the Power of Attorney is intended for legal claims or counterclaims in court, the designated attorney must be either a licensed lawyer or an immediate family member of the client (ascendant, descendant, or a descendant within the same lineage).

Issuance of the Document

Fee: The power of attorney fee is 1,450 SEK or 125 EUR. Payments can be made via bank transfer.

Same-Day Issuance: Once all requirements are met, the document will be issued on the same day during working hours.

Important Notes

Document Preparation: Ensure that all required documents are brought to avoid delays in the process. Incomplete applications will not be accepted
