Transferring of Deceased to Afghanistan

Information on obtaining a Confirmation for Transferring of Deceased to Afghanistan

In the unfortunate event of the death of an Afghan citizen in Sweden or Finland, the Embassy of Afghanistan in Stockholm issues a supporting letter to assist the family in repatriating the deceased to Afghanistan. This letter facilitates collaboration with the relevant authorities, including those in transit countries and Afghan airports, to ensure a smooth transfer process.

Additionally, if requested by Swedish or Finnish authorities, a similar supporting letter can be issued for the repatriation of a deceased Afghan without heirs, solely to ensure the process proceeds without any complications.
