Information on obtaining Inheritance Certificate

Afghan nationals residing in Sweden and Finland can apply for an inheritance certificate at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Stockholm.

Important Information and Instructions
  1. Applicants, along with three witnesses and two observers who are adults and Afghan citizens, must visit the embassy in person. This document cannot be processed or issued in absentia, by mail, or online.
  2. Applications are accepted during the official working hours of the consulate.
Required Documents

The following documents are necessary for the inheritance certificate:

  • Application form: The heir(s) must carefully fill out the application form in Dari or Pashto, ensuring the accuracy of names, dates, numbers, and locations.
  • Heir(s): At least one heir, along with three witnesses and two observers, must visit the consulate in person with the following documents:
  • Proof of Afghan nationality: The applicant, three witnesses, and two observers must present their original Afghan ID card or passport along with copies.
  • Proof of residency in Sweden or Finland: The applicant, three witnesses, and two observers must provide a copy of their identity card showing the name and address of the holder.
  • Two photographs: The applicant, three witnesses, and two observers must submit two recent photographs with a white background.
Issuance of the Certificate:

 

  • After meeting all the requirements, the certificate will be issued on the same day during working hours.
  • Fee: The inheritance certificate fee is 1450 Swedish Krona or 125 Euros. Payments can be made via a bank card.
Important Notes

Document Preparation: Ensure that you bring all required documents to avoid delays in the process. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
